This site is great and very informative.   I have a 07 Outlander max.   I love it, power is way better then expected.   The new brake reccomendation worked well.

Ok Ok.

Just realized it was Gypsy who did this.   I was just looking through the pics and realized that I am indeed in the pics.   I am the person he was talking about who beat the warranty by just a few weeks with a broken frame.   I got it replaced in 2006 at no cost to me.   During my visit I purchased new Yellow Plasic converting it to Lemon yellow, ha ha.   I find the Yellow wears much better!

Not sure how come I never came accross this website before.   Great job.   Very detailed. I have had my 2003 Outty since new.   We have had our fun times and our not so fun times.   Everything you mentioned I have either experienced first hand or have known about through sites like this.   Very informative.   I bookmarked it and certainly will be back.

this is a great website. Job well done. I have some issues that I will email you with.

Oct 5 2008 09:48 am
I recently drownded out the CVT, upon starting engine would not rev up,   and could hear the gurgling and actually see the CVT cover pulling in while trying to rev engine.   Ultimately was able to tow to a large hill and then start. this allowed the water to start to blow out the rear CVT exhaust port and hard riding then resumed.   Just wondering if it would be possible to drill a small hole in the bottom of the CVT cover and put a rubber plug in the case this happens again.   Not wanting to go the snorkel idea but thinking this would be a work around when it does get wet.

Thanks for the great info!! Followed your procedure for poor idling, but after it was all done, found all it needed was a new spark plug. Sometimes the easiest solutions are the best. Now I need to clean the CVT. Thanks for the procedure!!

Have 2005 400XT, great bike. Was having trouble with bike not idling properly, found the boot between the carb and motor was loose. This fixed the idle problem.

Like i said in May, i've ported the head, racing exhaust made and modified the air filter.Incredible change ,great pull all the way,the engine never die.The problem with the 400 his that it don't have enough air, that why a lot of people have falling spark plug.Porting is essential.I installed the EPI clutch and really don't like it,it's more useful for mud riding and i'm more into riding trails fast.I have the Dalton clutch that i'm gonna put and i'll review it soon. For the Big Gun exhaust it's written Max but doesn't fit the max,too short.(1 person only outlander)really looks nice thought.See you

With the 500/650/800 twins dominating other Outlander sites I am really delighted to see one devoted to the 400.   Keep up the good work, and I'll be visiting often.
